Toxic Chemicals Control Act

TCCA(Toxic Chemicals Control Act)

Toxic Chemicals Control Act (hereafter, "TCCA") is a regulation that enables all people to live in a healthy and comfortable environment by preventing any harm to people’s health and the environment caused by chemicals and by properly controlling toxic chemicals.

The major ideas are composed of

  • 1) To strengthen the safety measures through statistical survey on chemical substances, establishment of information system, and concretization of the standards on handling and installation of the toxic chemical substances
  • 2) To strengthen prevention system of hazardous chemical substances through Off-site Risk Assessment System on chemical accidents
  • 3) Preparation/Measures against chemical accidents through strengthening the management of accident preparedness substances and provision of duties of immediate report on chemical accidents

Off-site Risk Assessment

Accident prevention system that one who intends to manage or install handling facilities of hazardous chemical substancs evaluates the impacts on the environment and human in the surrounding area of businesses in advance which can be caused by possible occurrence of chemical accidents

Risk Management Plan

Accident prevention system that one who intends to treat the accident preparedness substances over a specified quantity which have high risk concern if chemical accident occurrs should generate the accident prevention, Off-site Risk Assessment, and risk management program and notify people of the relevant information.
