Introduction of GSO Certification (G-Mark)
G-Mark is now a requirement for Low Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances being sold into member countries of the Gulf Standardization Organization (GSO) such as State of United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen.
Scope
- - Electrical, electronic appliances designed to operate in voltage range of AC 50~1000V, DC 75~1500V
- ※ Equipment and phenomena outside the scope of this technical regulation
- • Electrical equipment for use in an explosive atmosphere
- • Electrical equipment for radiology and medical purposes
- • Electrical parts for goods and passenger
- • Electricity meters
- • Electric fence controllers
- • Radio-electrical interference
- • Specialized electrical equipment, for use on ships, aircraft or railways

Electrical product in list (1) and list (2)
Electrical product in list (1) is classified as low risk electrical products which are not included in list (2). SELF DECLARATION route by the manufacturer can be made on affixing the“G” and drawing up a Declaration of Conformity before placing the product on the market.
Electrical product in list (2) is classified as higher risk electrical products. Type testing and review of the product and verification of technical file are required. A recommendation to grant Type Certification will be made and on registration of the product, authorization is granted to affix the “G” Mark before placing the product onto the market.

Technical Documentation
The Technical Documentation should be drawn up in Arabic language. If not possible, documents in English can be submitted except for the user manual.
- 1) A general description of electrical equipment;
- 2) Drawings, a list of components, materials, sub-assemblies and circuits
- 3) User Manual
- 4) A list of the Gulf or IEC Standards applied in full or in part
- 5) Test reports from ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratories or a Notified Body
- 6) Manufacturers risk assessment document
- 7) Manufacturers Declaration of Conformity
